Opening the Sherwood SR series second stage cover retainer tool is easiest by placing the tool with its tapers in the openings of the cover retainer ring.
Now slowly turn in the correct direction to open or close the ring.
When closing the ring, keep in mind that it is not overtightened as this could result in the ring breaking.
